Short Description |
Who Were the Shudras? is a history book written by Indian social reformer and polymath B. R. Ambedkar that challenges British historians’ false and fabricated history of India. In order to convince the upper classes that social democracy was more significant for India than independence from foreign rule, the book attempted to demonstrate that Shudras were not lower classes of Hindus who were ignorant of their slavery. According to Ambedkar’s interpretation in the book, the Shudras were once Aryans, citing the Rigveda, Mahabharata, and other ancient vedic scriptures. |
